DATES OF 2007 RAFARS COUNCIL MEETING AT DCAE COSFORD.

11 Sep., 13 Oct (AGM), 13 Nov.

A Field Rep will be invited to each meeting and travel expenses paid.

All members may ask to attend meetings but expenses are not paid.

RAFARS ANNUAL DINNER AND AGM 2007.

The annual dinner will take place at Haughton Hall, Shifnal Nr Cosford

(TF11 8HG) on Friday 12th Oct. 2007. The AGM is at the RAF Museum Cosford

(WV7 3EX) on Saturday 13th Oct. 2007. Full details with the Summer QRV.

EAST KERBY MUSEUM

On 5th July at East Kerby Museum the Air Gunners Association has invited

any RAFARS Members to attend. Events which include a run up of a Lancaster

4 engine and an attempt to get a 1154/5 operational. A Dornier bomber that

crashed will be on display. Full information can be obtained from Bernard

Bernard is also seeking help to put on GB2VET Veterans on the 4 & 5 Aug at

East Park, Holderness, Hull, E Yorkshire.

SSB FIELD DAY 2006 RESULTS.

Radcom have now published the results.

Restricted Section RAFARS G8FC/P came 9th out of 25 stations taking part.

Bad weather conditions caused lots of problems through out the country.

G8FC/P had one of the lowest log error rates in the country.

Members who flew the RAFARS Flag were G0NWY, M0DZB, G0DAM,G4DQP, G0NVY

and G3KWY who supplied most of the equip, with G3ZDW as NCO i/c.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.

On Sat 16 June Friends of the Museum met up to remember The Falklands War

25yrs on. It was also Museums on the Air weekend. We worked 67 Stations

including GB2FC Falkland Conflict with 8 Museums.

Alan 2E0LSX (Guest Operator) and G4GGC Mike gave us a visit.

GB2RAF should be QRV every 2nd Saturday of the Month 1000-1500 hrs local

on RAFARS frequencies SSB or CW on 80m, or 40m if conditions are poor.
