90TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE - SES GB90RAF
On Tuesday April 1st, using the callsign GB90RAF from RAFARS HQ at DCAE
Cosford to celebrate the 90th birthday of the Royal Air Force, service and
civilian members of the society made 364 contacts worldwide.
The callsign will be used until April 28th.
RAFARS ANNUAL DINNER AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The dinner will take place at the Stratton House Hotel, Biggleswade on
Friday 10th October. The AGM will be held the next day at the Shuttleworth
Trust in Old Warden. Full details will be including with the Summer
QRV mailing but a resume will be placed on the RAFARS web site soon.
SUBS REMINDER.
Members are reminded that Annual Subscriptions are due before the 1st of
May. The cost is still only £11.00 (Eleven Pounds).

BLACKPOOL RALLY REPORT SUN 16 MARCH 2008.
28 Members signed in at the RAFARS Stand with one new member. Quite a
reasonable amount was received for Commodities sold with the shiny new log
book being the favourite. The Stand was run by Roy G0TAK with the help of
RAFARS Members John G8LGC, Roy 2E0BDJ, John M3OWV, Tim M1CND & Mike M1IKE.

DATES OF 2008 RAFARS COUNCIL MEETING AT DCAE COSFORD FOR 2008.
Tuesday 22 Apr, 24 Jun, 9 Sep, and 18 Nov - at 1300hrs
A Field Rep will be invited to each meeting and travel expenses paid.
All members may ask to attend meetings but expenses are not paid.
GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
This station will be operational 1st April for GB90RAF/GB70RAF.
Therefore GB2RAF will NOT be operational on the (Second Sat) 12 April.
Report for Sat 8th March 2008 Conditions good on 3.710 from 1053 to 1540.
48 Contacts made which included RAFARS G4PFR G4DQP G8ILD, G3IYT, G3DHY and
G8UUG. This month I had Rex G0CLR who spend a few hours on the Mic.
GB2RAF should be QRV every 2nd Saturday of the Month 1000-1500 hrs local
on RAFARS frequencies SSB or CW on 80m, or 40m if conditions are poor.
